Albanian Taste in Berlin: ChocoAlb presents for the first time the “Box of Origin” at ITB Berlin

At this year's edition of ITB Berlin, Albania was presented as the "Country of Honor", offering an all-encompassing experience under the slogan "All Senses". The opening ceremony, on March 3, took place at the CityCube Berlin, where Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that Albania has become a favorite travel destination for many tourists.

During the three days of the fair, Albania organized various activities, including various official conferences, cultural programs, discussion panels, and gastronomic activities.

Participants were introduced to Albania's cultural heritage through traditional performances, including the Tropoja dance. Discussions were held on adventure tourism, innovation, cultural heritage and sustainability. Visitors also had the opportunity to taste Albanian cuisine through events such as "A Taste of Albania" and live demonstrations, presenting traditional specialties.

Part of this activity was also ChocoAlb, where it presented for the first time its newest chocolate box, the origin box. This box was produced with STG and GI products. With the support of GIZ Albania, ChocoAlb brought the best of Albanian traditions in chocolate. A box with 12 artisanal pralines, and with 6 unique flavors.

  • Chocolate with Valmi olive oil from Elbasan (GI): Valmi Olive Oil & Dark Chocolate 60%
  • Chocolate with chesnuts from Malesia e Madhe (GI): Chestnuts & Dark Chocolate 58%
  • Chocolate with walnut jam from Permet (TSG): Walnut Jam & Dark Chocolate 58%

  • Chocolate with Bedunice honey (TSG): Honey & Dark Chocolate 58%

TSG (Traditional Speciality Guaranteed) and GI (Geographical Indication) are certificates that protect and recognize the authenticity of food products. TSG emphasizes traditional production methods and ingredients, ensuring that a product remains true to its heritage. GI links a product to a specific region, guaranteeing that its quality and reputation are linked to its place of origin. Both labels assure consumers of genuine craftsmanship and high quality.

Albania’s participation in ITB Berlin 2025 highlighted the country’s commitment to developing tourism and promoting cultural heritage, positioning it as an attractive destination for global visitors. With indigenous wines and certified traditional products, Albania brought its best flavors straight to Berlin.

The ITB Berlin event, organized during the month of March, created new opportunities for cooperation between Albanian businesses and international partners. A true celebration of tradition, taste and new partnerships!
